The GAMBA is partnering with Savannah Tech and Chatham County Public Schools on a Marine Trades Committee. The purpose is to develop methods of attracting teens and young adults to marine trades, ensure local training is available in the necessary studies, develop internship and apprenticeship programs, and develop plans for job placement assistance after certifications have been achieved. And in time, work with other coastal schools to duplicate these programs.
The purpose of this questionnaire is to determine the need for trained marine tradesmen in coastal Georgia and neighboring counties, pay scales, and potential for future job opportunities for trained candidates, as well as gauging the interest and availability of marine service providers to participate in internship and apprenticeship programs. This survey is open to all marine service providers in the coastal Georgia region (including nearby inland counties).
This survey is open to member marinas only.
The purpose is to gain an understanding of average dockage, dry storage and fuel rates, to allow members to remain competitive. The survey is confidential - information gathered will be compiled and shared with members in the form of ranges. Individual marina rates will not be shared.
